The work really begins when you are finally in a position to build or renovate your home. This is a big expense and a huge undertaking – an understatement if there ever was one. You need someone who you can trust, someone who listens, and someone who can get things done. Don Coburn is that person. He was our guide and partner in making our new home a reality.
After 30 years, our humble cottage needed a myriad of repairs and updates. It was not an easy decision to knock down the seasonal home we had owned for more than 30 years and build a new year-round home. We didn’t want it to lose its “cottage” feel but we wanted to be able to enjoy year-round opportunities to visit Maine.
From our initial scribblings and a wish list Don helped us navigate the complexities of homebuilding. Don was responsive to our wishes and knowledgeable about how (or whether) to make them a reality. Even during a pandemic, Don was able to deliver. His contractors and suppliers were professional, reasonable, and experienced. During the whole process – from foundation pouring to removing a dead fox from under the completed porch, Don was reliable, straightforward, and available. The result is a beautiful home in which we are making new memories. We are thrilled and could not be happier with our choice of builder.
